About Us
Mrs. Rockoff
I am very excited to start my fifth year at Hawthorn Middle School North! I am passionate about providing adolescents with a safe, positive environment where they can learn and practice skills and strategies necessary to be successful within school, home and the community. I am fortunate to have had a broad range of culturally rich experiences, working with diverse populations within various school systems in Morton Grove, Waukegan and Lincolnshire.
I really enjoy working with the students and families at Hawthorn Middle School North. Middle school can be a challenging time for many students as they transition from elementary school and childhood into adolescence. My role as a school social worker allows me to support your children during this sometimes awkward and difficult time. One of my favorite things about being a school social worker is that every day is different! In addition to counseling students I am on the Hawthorn Middle North Leadership and Crisis Teams, I co-facilitate the Snowflake Program and I am one of the advisers for the Hawthorn Middle North TRY (Teens Reaching Youth) Leadership Program.
How it all began...
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Michigan State University (Go State!!) and earned a Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I am a certified school social worker and obtained my clinical social work license (LCSW).
Balance...
When I'm not busy working with my Hawthorn Middle North Students, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to hang out and go on road trips with my husband, my 14 year old son, and my 12 year old daughter.
